I think this was actually taken at the Grand Canyon in Arizona. (Please don't hate me, I saw it on the front page of the other place. It was posted by the photographer) https://m.facebook.com/pages/Evan-Halleck-Timelapse-Nature-Photography/1413412048898663?fref=ts

It is over the Colorado River, though, so... Some points?

That storm is beautiful, awe inspiring and frightening all at the same time. I love it!

As someone that goes out to CO to climb fairly regularly, this picture terrifies me. The weather there is so fickle. It can be blue skies and sunshine on one side of a ridge, and on the other side, the side you can't see, it might look like this. Getting caught in bad weather on a committing route is one of the worst feelings ever.

One of my most memorable rafting trips down the Colorado River involved sunny weather that turned into substantially sized hail mid way down the river.

One of the weirdest weather experiences I had was in Sedona, where it was all sunny, blue skies that gave way to a blindingly crazy but relatively brief snowfall that made everything feel like Hoth. And then it went back to sunny, blue skies, almost like the snow never happened.

This is reminder that we may think we have tamed mother nature but the only thing we actually did was limit her damage.

The combination of the mountains/elevation cause some pretty cool weather patterns in CO

The storms in CO are absolutely awe-inspiring. I was visiting some friends in Aspen a couple weeks ago, and I was so jealous of the storms they get down there because you just don't get storms like that on the west coast.

I actually managed to catch a few lightning strikes in slo-mo, it looks fuckin cool:
