Not anymore. Obama renamed it to Denali 10 months ago.

Thanks Obama. Although most people are happy with this change.

It's always been Denali. Just because some foreigners who have never seen it called it McKinley doesn't negate what the Natives have called it since they discovered it long before we ever saw it.

Bottom line for me is that Alaska should have the right to name its own damn mountain. Alaska called it Denali, but it was changed to McKinley in 1917 against Alaskans' wishes. All attempts to change the name back had been blocked by Ohio, President McKinley's home state.

Lovely image. Nice to see politics getting inserted here. I mean one man from Ohio for several decades was all it took to prevent the name change to Denali even though Alaska wanted to change it for the longest time. Denali is a beautiful mountain. Denali....Denali. Denali.

This reminds me of a period of about 6 months last year when I saw "LBJ" popping up quite often. I was a bit surprised and was curious what caused the resurgence in interest Lyndon Baines Johnson... only to be disappointed when I found people were actually referring to LeBron James.

Any idea what road this picture was taken on? I'm pretty big into adventure riding and would love to ride on that gravel road :)

Denali Park road. Park buses are usually the only vehicles allowed on the road.

Thank you. It's unfortunate that they don't usually allow others on the road. Could be safety concerns. Can't imagine there is a repair shop anywhere nearby.

There is a popular hiking spot in Phoenix called Squaw Peak. Shitlibs got it changed so it was named after some Indian chick from a completely different part of the state who got killed in the Iraq War. The street leading to it is still named Squaw Peak Drive though and most everyone other than the media and politicians still call it Squaw Peak.

So yeah, I'm still calling it Mt. McKinley. Trump should rename some garbage dump in Alaska after Obama though. Seems fitting.

You are a moron. It has been called Denali for a much longer amount of time by many more people than McKinley. Everyone in the whole world called it Denali besides America. Watch any fucking mountaineering documentary on Denali that predates the official name change.

It's extremely disingenuous and dishonest to compare the renaming of a mountain to its historical name to a random name change to a completely new name.

Live in Alaska. No one ever called it Mt. McKinley except map makers.

While I do think you living there is worth consideration saying 'no one' obviously has me looking for someone that calls it Mt. McKinley as there are bound to be some. From what I can determine at the political level at least in Alaska (not necessarily a good representation of average people's opinions) it is heavily for Denali. But Sarah Palin opposed Obama changing the name:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Denali%E2%80%93Mount_McKinley_naming_dispute

On September 6, 2015, former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin criticized Obama's Alaskan visit and also voiced her opposition to the name change: "The name of the national park was changed to Denali some years ago. So I thought that was good enough. We could keep McKinley as the highest peak on the North American continent. We could keep that name McKinley."
