I just wanted to encourage those of you here who have never gone back and tried re-editing your old photos before to go ahead and do so.
I recently did it for the first time and I was shocked at how much I was able to improve a photo that I had done a God awful job of post processing on when I first started.
As an example this photo was the first time I had ever attempted HDR and well, after my original edit job it clearly belongs in /r/shittyHDR. I was pleasantly surprised at how much the photo improved when I went back and started the editing process over from square one.
This was my first time going back and taking a second pass at editing old photos and it's amazing how much of a difference a year of learning can do to the way we edit our photos.
TL;DR: Consider going back and through your old photos and re-editing them using techniques/methods you've learned since. You might be pleasantly surprised at the results.

Oh my goodness, as someone who's not confident enough to get into photography but still constantly amazed by it, those are night and day differences between those two pictures. That's incredible.

I know! I was absolutely shocked at how much better it looked! I guess I didn't realize how much my understanding of post processing had grown and changed over the course of one year. It's a good feeling to see how far I've come.

That's the glory of good editing right there. A lot of people think that if a photo is too blurry, that that is it and the photo is worthless. Really though the camera captures a LOT of information even when it looks like it didn't. Like how in the first pic you can't really see much of the ground between you and the sun, but the camera did definitely capture it because you can see it in the edit.
