I thought it was so ridiculous when they stopped teaching cursive. I'm glad some folks are coming to their senses. BTW I didn't even know there was a sub for penmanship. Voat has it all!

I hope this inspires at least one kid to treasure handwriting and maybe even take up calligraphy.

Why? There are SO MANY better things we could be teaching them. I learned cursive in school. And guess how often I use it..... Not at all. Why not have a standard class for balancing your finances. On investing. On starting a business. On programming. On common sense. On deciphering fact and opinion. On engineering principals. On proper nutrition and health. On any number of things that would be better than wasting time on cursive. I don't care if it's an elective, but to make cursive mandatory is just a bullshit class/curriculum to avoid teaching them anything real.
