It still has bugs, such as the one that Oxide found where there is an issue on their side which negatively effects DX12 performance when MSAA is used. They are hoping to have a fix on their side shortly.
That's the downside to DX12, isn't it? That the game dev is now responsible to fix these issues and to fully develop games to the limits of the hardware instead of a full API that doesn't reach full potential in exchange for compatibility.
I expect to hear "talk to the game dev about the issues" a lot more frequently.

That's not a downside. It actually makes you have to give 2 fucks about your code instead of copy-pasting api calls and hope for the best.
The new approach in dx 12 and vulkan is long overdue.
