I don't know, the whole line up is so lowly priced that it's a constant battle of "just a little more and I get more cores". For $30 more you get 6 cores, and adjusting the multiplier to reach the 1400x clocks should be possible on the majority of systems without adjusting any voltages.
I imagine if I grab a 1700x for $382 and can hit mid 4ghz range overclocking, I'm not going to need a new CPU for a really long time, years. I don't see that longevity coming out of a 4core CPU.
