I'm in a fairly similar situation as you, my 4690k is actually being a bottleneck in some situations, but I think I'm going to just go zen because I've been wanting a good AMD cpu for a while now and if they are really that good, I want that for my main rig. I'm probably going to move my current system out to the living room to replace the aging Q6600 system.

Thing is, I am not sure they are going to be that good compared to the higher end 1150 Intel processors. I may do some waiting (my 4590 is not bad off yet) but I am really not too encouraged yet. If I was still on one of the older Intel platforms or any AMD I would be a lot more excited but I know a Zen plus MB and memory that competes with that $350 i7 upgrade is going to cost a lot more.
