I saw a lot of people coming from Reddit to Voat yesterday. Some people were concerned this sub was an SJW or pro-SJW sub, allow me to clear some things up. I have gotten several messages asking about what this sub is about and about the SJW rule.
Allow me to give you new guys some context as to what started this sub.
Back a couple months ago Voat had its first big "separation of opinions" so to speak. Someone took over /v/beatingwomen and started censoring it so it couldn't be used for harm. This of course upset many of the people here, including myself. We viewed it as an SJW takeover of /v/beatingwomen.
A few weeks of arguing went on and then I created /v/wifebeater and explained my position in this thread. In that thread people were getting frustrated as tempers got higher as the topic went on. That is why /v/opendiscussion was created, it is so everyone can express themselves and all opinions are treated equal. Every opinion counts, it is what helps shape our understandings.
This sub is all about mature discussions. Please refrain from downvoating in this sub. There are no bad opinions, wrong opinions, or stupid opinions in this sub, there are only opinions. If you see a post/comment violating the rules, please send a link to one of the mods (not sure if the report button works). I encourage everyone, new subscribers, and old subscribers alike, to please visit this thread for important sub information including rules.
If you have any questions, feel free to PM me.
