My apologies, if this is a repost but I searched the name and some sentence combinations and came up with nothing here on Voat.

This happened last week but again, I found nothing here on voat and I strongly believe people should know that almost all police officers are very good and respectable people.

What this officer did was amazing and he should be remembered. A lot of officers do good work everyday.

However, the fraction of officers that are an insult to officers like the one in this story seem to be growing. I think 'almost all' may have to be changed to 'most'.

The man is a true hero alright. Laying down his life for a stranger, such a selfless act. Very courageous too, epecially considering the violence of the crash.

I don't agree that almost all police officers are very good and respectable people though. As the police would say "The evidence suggests otherwise".

The word "hero" gets thrown a lot in the media, but what this guy did truly qualifies.

R.I.P. big guy.

This is what a true hero is and what police are supposed to do: protect civilians from harm. RIP deputy
