. . . They signed the resolution that was a public condemnation of NK's attempts to arm itself with the ability for long ranged nuclear strikes. Doing nothing puts them in a very awkward spot diplomatically. Making a public statement about it condemning it again results in aggressive US foreign policy. Making a public statement defending it results in an even more awkward diplomatic position. Most of the times that China just does nothing and the UN doesn't care are about low key stuff, not worth angering a member of the security council over. People are going to care about this - All of Asia and most of Europe are included in that nuclear strike range. That's a big deal for a lot of people.

I'd have to disagree given that in the passed 4 security council resolutions against NK, it's been 15-0 with almost half of the countries being from Asia every time. I'm pretty sure they care. I could be wrong, we'll have to see.
