I'm not saying they didn't deserve to be taken out. I'm saying it's being used to curb public anger, but it's just my opinion.

I think Islam is an unhealthy religion. I'm not defending any terrorists. I'm just pointing out that the US is trying to bring attention away from ISIS, while keeping the US public afraid of those gosh darn scary terrorists.

I get your underlying point, that the USA is trying to use success in one area to suggest they have a winning strategy.

I suggest that the USA is trying to distract us away from the real enemy, Islam itself. It's not that they don't know that Islam needs to be addressed but they likely feel that it sure as hell will not be their own business to do so in this conflict. They want to kick the can down the road, wait for the public to catch up with the reality that the PC talk about Islam is mistaken.

Why not take action now, though? Because it is too damn inconvenient, its politically incorrect, it's a major logistics head ache, because they only have a short while til they are personally out of office or seeing their retirement. Taking on Islam will be a thankless task at first because the public has been fed a load of horseshit about how peaceful it is and how its wrong to discriminate against a death cult.
