What a shallow, transparent attempt to justify Hillary's blatant mishandling of classified emails.

during their tenures as secretaries of state for President George W. Bush

Colin Powell was SoS from 2001 to 2005 and Rice from 2005-2009. Hillary took over for Rice in 2009. So, it's ancient history they had to dig up in a poor effort to imply "Oh Hillary didn't do anything than other SoS' did." It didn't work for Nixon and it won't work for her.

Two emails were sent to Mr. Powell’s personal account, and 10 to personal accounts of Ms. Rice’s senior aides.

And the 10 that are tagged to Rice's aides were just reclassified or "upgraded" as part of the Clinton investigation. So Powell may have never known, and Rice was never even involved.

Lame NYT, just lame.

Oh, and if didn't read the article - Hillary's personal email server had at least 18 emails that were known to be classified as secret, and 1564 others that were classified as "confidential".

Perspective - If your girlfriend had a couple of dick pics on her phone, you might just find it funny, and chalk it up to naivete, but if you found a few thousand, you would know something is very wrong.

There are two elements in a crime that are sometimes overlooked; Willfully, and knowingly; Ignorance of the law is obviously not an excuse, but we are talking about Willful neglect vs. carelessness.

"Willfully Definition: Acting voluntarily, deliberately and intentionally. Related Terms: Knowingly. "Willfully means that a defendant acted knowingly, deliberately, and intentionally as contrasted with accidentally, carelessly or unintentionally. "Willfully means a voluntary, intentional violation of a known legal duty"

What Powell and Rice did was careless, and yes, they should get whatever is appropriate with that act, but Clinton, Willfully violated her oath and promises (The NDA) - For her to claim "She didn't know" is a farce, and insulting.

According to the CNN article, the State Dept had their emails to look through, and they never left government servers. It really just sounds like someone is intentionally conflating the two scenarios.
