Because dumb feminists and Islamists are super important to science?

You pretty much summed up what I wanted to say in a much more eloquent and brief way. Well done, SoaringChickenNugget, well done indeed.

When you say science, you mean government science, such as climate science, gender research, and NASA multiculturalism optimizations. Everything that is centrally planned and funded dies. It's only the funding that is perpetuated.

In other words, not-science.

I like how you threw in "climate science" as if it's not agreed upon by 95%+ of the worlds scientists (including Richard Dawkins) and is just some government conspiracy.

Can't have been a serious Science event, if they ban attendees over tweets though, can it?

“We believe strongly in freedom of speech and freedom to express unpopular, and even offensive, views. However, unnecessarily divisive, counterproductive, and even hateful speech runs contrary to our mission and the environment we wish to foster at NECSS. The sentiments expressed in the video do not represent the values of NECSS or its sponsoring organisations.”

That quote also smacks of brazen doublespeak. We believe in freedom of speech, now let me take a few sentence to explain why we don't believe in freedom of speech.

We believe in freedom of speech, as long as you're expressing our beliefs.

Yep. What they should have said was: We believe in selective expression/speech. Would have made a whole lot more sense.

They deemed his views unnecessary. They are only for necessary offensive views or necessary unpopular opinions. Like 'Religion is Evil' or the theory of evolution or climate change. or that some kind of gnostic enlightenment brings about godlike existence we are stardust etc.

Haha, what a joke, yes. The sad part is that those speaking it actually somehow believe what they are saying. You know what, their event doesn't deserve to be graced by Dawkins.

For those wondering, this is the video he retweeted.

The complaint, while obviously about feminists ultra protected status, was that the red haired woman in the parody is based on a real person who has apparently been receiving all sorts of threats. That person is everybody's favorite harpy, big red.

I do find it pretty sad that the atheistic and scientific community has been corrupted by feminism as well. I try to explain to people that it's a bigger, more pervasive problem than we give it credit for but nobody seems to get it.

There are none. But in the feminist dominated world, mere accusations are enough. No judge or jury.

I was around at the very beginning: Elevator Gate.

It was a calm and peaceful day. Days prior were bursting with joyful teases to Christians, Jews, and Muslims. All was well within the Atheist community; we had draw Muhammad day. We had joyful debates with Catholics who turned festering ghouls. We had all sorts of wild fun. Many a YouTube channel dedicated to reason and the epitome of logic; of finding the truth to everything. It was a Golden Age and the four horsemen of Enlightenment stood tall. With the passing of one of the great horsemen ripples were sent out, but none the wiser... Until... That very morning I speak of.

Elevator Gate.

It twas an atheist conference like any other, until a woman chose to speak. Not an unusual thing, mind you, as women spoke often at these events, but something wasn't quite right. She had come with a secret, and most devastating weapon, tucked in her back pocket: A victim complex.

She unleashed whirl after whirl of attack on the atheist community. Accusing all of us of being hateful anti-women misogynists. And then, after the conference was over, a noble knight eager to understand this woman asked her if she would like a cop of coffee whilst in the elevator. Little did this poor fellow know that in time his actions would be the downfall of us all.

She accused him of sexual harassment and brought our conference low with lawsuit. She struck us down (unsuccessfully legally) with banter and bullshit. Our community was shattered in twine; as bleeding hearts rose to her side a new community formed from it's ashes: Atheism+ with the head haunch himself: Mr. Fedora Fatass.

With our community shattered our once great heroes lay silent, but who should arise non-other than Thunderf00t to almost rue the day! On of our greatest champions engaged in relentless battle with the beast, laying low Atheism+! But with that hydra shattered sprung from it sleeper cells... Who would wait for this very day...

But now the time has come that a minor blow is struck against one of the great four horsemen himself: Richard Dawkins. This highest of true champions, now aged with time, understands little about this rabid evil horde of ghouls and ghastly beings. Our community rose up to his aid! Informing him of these malicious harpies. Armed with this knowledge he has rebutted this newfound foe: making haste to liken them to religion and, in one fell swoop, reclaimed some of his former glory!

But it is fast approaching that the time of the Four Horsemen has come to pass. For one is dead, another aging. We must make stalwart gaze upon the horizon ever waiting for heroes to emerge to take their place once they part.

Elevatorgate started this whole mess. Seriously. All of it. It makes me so sad.

I thought I was going insane when the whole country got more religious after 9/11. Then Sam Harris gave me back my sanity.

It has to do with the idea of privilege, and how less privileged groups are supposedly incapable of hurting the more privileged.

In this case, being female is a sign of lacking privilege, but their attackers were People of Color (TM), migrants, followers of a non-Western faith, and from countries fucked over by America at some point. This gives them more oppression points, exempting them from typical values.

One of us one of us? Dawkins has been anti-religious for many years. He's an evolutionary biologist by trade. 3rd wave identity feminists that are concerned about appearance are well up for slating no one can take that shit seriously.
