Clarkson catches a lot of flack for having reasonable opinions that are quite common to have, especially for people his age.

He says what he thinks, it's a rare quality these days to speak your mind.

Hopefully Amazon doesn't put too many restrictions on the trio. But I am very ready to see them in action again!

I love this guy. Everywhere he turns around and opens his mouth people get all salty and pissy. Good on him. Insensitive or not, he's not wrong about what he said about this issue - there's too much attention and pressure being pushed towards parents to indulge their children on these whims of "self-identity," to the point where it's not solely for the benefit of the child - it's now your problem, and mine. We must indulge them further, or be labelled a bigoted ass-face, essentially.

He's correct. No responsible parent should follow such extreme demands of a child. Children are stupid. They can't be expected to make big decisions like that and they easily misunderstand shit, including themselves.

I'm on the line about this issue. On the one hand if a person (even a kid) feels overwhelmingly that they shouldn't be the gender dictated by their external organ, fine, let them change that if that will make them happy. On the other hand it is starting to feel like society can shape literally ANYTHING about a person including beliefs, morality, sexual preference, assertiveness, and even a persons gender identity. I would never claim that every attribute about every person is a product of their society, but it would be unreasonable to believe society doesn't shape anything about us either. So in the case of people believing they are this or that gender, part of me wants them to be who they feel they are, and the other is concerned that society is at least partly creating this urge. How exactly this is happening would only be speculation at this point, but at the least it does seem that this gender identity issue is a fairly new occurrence.

It's the crowd who believe society does shape everything that refuse to believe a person too young to know what being male or female actually feels like must be transgender rather than that they could be conditioned to think they are transgender by a culture that is totally obsessed with it at the moment and desperate to appear tolerant welcoming of it. So kids are put on the path to hormone treatment and genital mutilation when they might just be going through a phase, and when Clarkson says this might be a bad thing he gets called evil.
