No. It will not be easier, it would be a second revolution to remove religious nuts after they took over, and probably a failed one because there are far more religious than non. I feel like most folks dont have the will or strength to lead especially when they have to have an imaginary friend tell them how to live their lives. All it would take would be a "vision from god" or some bullshit and we would end up in a theocracy like the middle east.
Hell, pretty much every religious Republican I know wants a theocracy in the US. That's why I cringe any time they complain about Democrats "destroying freedom" when they're just as anti-freedom.
