One of my biggest complaints about the liberal-progressive anti-gun people is that they seem to get almost all their information, 'facts' and understanding of guns from movies and TV shows.
They are also duped by simple 'marketing names' like if someone calls a military style weapon an 'Assault' weapon they get confused and they know that 'assault' is a word meaning 'hurt or attack innocent people' right? Assault is illegal by definition so therefore nobody should own an assault gun.
Of course its just a marketing name for a style of rifle military people would use when carrying out some military 'assault on the enemy'. A kind of 'army style look'.
Or they cannot comprehend that 'automatic' doesn't actually mean 'automatically kills people' and they then suppsoe 'semi-automatic' means it 'semi-automatically kills people'..
They sincerely seem to believe a 'automatic aka machine gun' therefore is more deadly and murders way more people etc.
They even go the other way sometimes where they don't even start to care about shotguns for example. I think its because of movies and TV again where a shotgun is often the gun of the Ole Farmer and cartoon violence where someone gets a butt full of little holes and runs away YOUCH!
In fact, IF someone wanted to go on a killing spree in a closed area a shotgun would be fucking horrific and quite possibly one of THE deadliest of all choices even over a 'Machine Gun'.
Point being, this is my complaint. They seem to understand guns from movie and TV violence. OR they know better but count on the fact a lot of the general public knows guns from TV and Movies and they play on that.
