If people tip you for being awesome... I still see no reason for it to be an issue. It's like instances where your friend helps you out and you give them a $5 for gas or get them something small as a token of appreciation.
Also, I suppose it just pisses me off that they would leave it up to shitty taxi services and other such things that are probably going to be overwhelmed, instead of letting people help other people. Government just doesn't need to get involved...
