Reek was also raped, and worse. No one gave two shits about it then.

If you can't handle it like an adult then don't watch it. In two seasons all the characters will be fat, mentally ill, and black at this rate.

Honest question:

Will these people ever shut up, or will a war have to be fought?

They will push things until they are violently rebuffed.

No. The civil rights movement has already won. Feminism has already won. The gay rights movement has basically won. All races and sexes are equal under the law. Gay people can get married in several states and countries, we have a black president, and women can do anything a man can do.

Reasonable people are now satisfied. The people who are still offended and fighting for "social justice" will never be happy, no matter how much the rest of the world tries to appease them. They are crazy, bitter, hateful people who have some psychological problem that will not let them ever be content. They always have to find some cause to "fight" for, some new thing to be offended about, and over time, they're getting more and more on the fringe. This will continue until the rest of the world decides to start mocking them and stop listening to them.

I don't necessarily agree with the in-your-face way that it was portrayed, but I also disagree with trying to censor plots for reasons like this.

How was it any different than Daenerys Targaryen's rape by her horse-cocked husband in season 1? You pretty much watched it at least in two different instances. I saw the episode after hearing about the hubub, and I'm still lost as to why that's the most controversial scene from the show.

I suppose incest rape during your son's funeral doesn't count as controversial enough.

Not to mention they made many of the young main characters older to avoid controversy from portraying children having sex in the first place. In the first book, Daenerys is 13 and Sansa is 11.

You're probably right. At least the show portrays Ramsay as a villain. Drogo was portrayed in a positive light and never shows regret for how he hurt her.

Writers usually don't. See also: Salman Rushdie, Anne Rice, even Judy Blume said to Time magazine that the idea of trigger warnings made her "blood boil." The Time interview was the first she'd ever heard of them and immediately reacted with disgust.

If that rape scene was protested, then I hope that they protest Quentin Tarantino's new movie, "The Hateful Eight". It has a rape scene as well. A man forcing another man to suck his penis and judging by the leaked script, the man who is forced to do the act . Surely, there is going to be outrage over that, right? right?

I'm conflicted. The scene in question was shit and the events leading up to it made no sense. The Sansa in Winterfell arc is a TV original, and it clearly shows. At the same time, no one should change their art in the face of criticism and outrage.

Maybe because she should've never been in Winterfell in the first place.
