Not sure how marketwatch arrived at this number, but it certainly seems true, especially if they are saddled with student loans and are having difficulty finding a decent paying job. But this is how the free enterprise system works. Perpetuate a class of wage slaves and over work them so that they have neither the time nor the energy to be politically active in a way that might be better for them.

When you have more workers in the employment pool than jobs in the economy, businesses can keep wages down. It also ensures a permanent underclass who are ready, willing and able to replace those wage slaves who might decide to fight back.

So it's just a repeat of the Industrial Revolution just in the 21st century?

In a way, but we are now in the high tech era, and as technology improves and becomes more sophisticated, even more jobs will be lost. The millenials have it tough, no doubt, but it appears it will be even tougher for subsequent generations.
