This method/logic can't be applied to everything though. I've got a diesel pickup. Only major problem I've had is the transmission which cost me 6k I paid 11.5k for it. That's a total of 17.5k. A brand new one, same model line and all, is about 60k.

Yes they do, but a new motor is 8k, a new transmission is 6k, and everything else can be much more expensive.
