Not that I normally support hate mongering, but I work full time and $800 is roughly a full, two-week paycheck for me. So, I can pay my rent or buy that gun? I mean.. nothing to defend if I don't have a domicile right?

There are cheaper guns that are still good. Taurus makes some. The TCP, for instance. $250 or so, and so, so easy to conceal on your body.

He has a nice set up. You could get a used .38 and a few boxes of ammo ~$300. Or a Hi-Point for cheaper than that. I've seen them cheaper, but here is a police trade-in S&W Model 10 for $319. It will work just as well for you now as it worked for the police 40 years ago.

If you can afford it then it might be a good idea to buy something nicer. However, I have plenty of faith in that gun's ability to stop a car jacking.

For home defense get a shotgun or rifle. You don't bring a handgun to a gunfight. You can pick up a perfectly good shotgun for around $200.

MD is one of the 7 states where a regular joe isn't getting a permit to carry. For your health.

What about us mentally challenged folks who foolishly bought a house in California where you have to be a movie star or Diane Feinstein to get a carry permit?

That's a matter of having to live with your bad decisions.

$800 to protect a $28,000 vehicle just makes sense.

LOL, bluebook on my car is $5,000, last I checked. But I still think it's time to get a CHL.. even though we can carry in our cars in Texas.
