i disagree with the laws that disregard the consent of the "victim". but i also believe that these laws are in place to control men, and are inherently sexist. as an egalitarian i believe that what is good for the goose is good for the gander, and that females should be punished equally for the crimes they commit as males are. in cases like this i believe that the sentence should never be greater than the states age of consent minus the age of the "victim" (so that younger victims lead to greater sentences because they are greater crimes).

in this case the crime is especially grievous because the teachers were in a position of authority over the student. an additional crime of abuse of authority should be added, and should still apply to teachers who have sex with their students even when the student is over the age of consent.
