Something they don't realize. Sex (in this context, strictly refers to consenting adults) is not something that one person "does" to another. It's something that we participate in together, an endeavor in which mutual satisfaction is typically both paramount and requires equal effort. It's one of our basest instincts, and it saddens me to see Victorian ideals disguised as progressive thinking.

The Victorian prudes and third wave feminists are the same brand of authoritarian idiot. They think that because they can't control themselves / act like adults that neither can anyone else. Same thing with the prohibitionists, redistributionists and other such petty tyrants.

You might be on to something. Perhaps all of this is a projection of no self control.

They want to control everyone but themselves without consent, yet when it comes time for the proverbial torch to be passed they won't consent. Then when they get forced like they try to force us into their belief paradigm of paradoxical and upside down dichotomy they want to fight for THEIR rights, and negate that we ever had any reason to fight for ours.

Then when they realize they are at their own game table alone, can't join anyone else's, and get so perplexed when the cut direct, in public and humiliatingly clear comes their way.

Sorry, are they feigning hurt feels? I hadn't noticed.

Well, the redistributionists have a point: There are too many wealthy people that have money they won't even spend, which is wasted money. They are not able to take responsibility for it.

So, went to a party, got really drunk, had sex with a random other drunk person, and was disappointed by how it wasn't great?

[–] fuckingkike 1 points 33 points (+34|-1) ago

No. She regrets her behavior and now expects other people to keep her from engaging in regrettable acts. Which, of course, is part of what feminism is supposed to combat: the sexual oppression of women on the grounds that they may find their behavior regrettable later.

I think the federal government should make people majoring in gender studies ineligible for financial aid. Maybe it would help discourage wasting money on bullshit

So if she goes out to another party, gets drunk, and get turned down for sex... what, is she a victim then, too?

LOL. There's an entire academic circuit that will hire her to teach and speak now. And then there's the whole diversity and sensitivity extortion raquet. You'd be surprised and terrified at how many well payed, easy work, employment opportunities someone like this has.

No I hear she will take up running, with her female best friend.

Then she can go solicit funding and sponsors for that P.hD and when she gets to 500k in debt for her loans, don't be her daddy or expect her to do anything but tell everyone her credentials as if that negates having a job. At that point, generously offer to allow them to reenact the bankruptcy discharge of their debts in court so we don't end up paying for their privileged, ivory tower, spoilt rotten existence.

If your wife and sisters and momma or grandma don't hate them now, they will hate them the day they file one of their lawsuits to pay their exorbitant student debts.

While we are on the subject of debtors prison, if I have to face jail or pay child support, I say they face jail for their student loans. Its only equal. Or maybe we can just abolish that.

If they don't negotiate, remind them that their state budget is strangulated and also remind them we can hold the rope of their federal purse until kingdom come.

I think it's time we so calling this feminism. It has nothing to do women's liberation. It's all an expression of a desire to be coddled, which is the opposite of liberation.

That article is intended for female readers I think because I have no clue what is all about it.

So in simplified male wording: Does the article say that sex should be banned?

[–] pacman2000 1 points 15 points (+16|-1) ago  (edited ago)

It doesn't say sex should be banned. The article doesn't actually make any assertions or arguments but reads like a stream of consciousness regarding her opinions about sex and power dynamics in sex outside of the actors involved.

She is basically saying that consensual sex can still be bad because there can be cultural or societal factors that will lead a woman to consent when she really didn't want to. The 2 most informative paragraphs if you read between the lines are these:

"Except that young women don’t always enjoy sex — and not because of any innately feminine psychological or physical condition. The hetero (and non-hetero, but, let’s face it, mostly hetero) sex on offer to young women is not of very high quality, for reasons having to do with youthful ineptitude and tenderness of hearts, sure, but also the fact that the game remains rigged.

It’s rigged in ways that go well beyond consent. Students I spoke to talked about “male sexual entitlement,” the expectation that male sexual needs take priority, with men presumed to take sex and women presumed to give it to them. They spoke of how men set the terms, host the parties, provide the alcohol, exert the influence. Male attention and approval remain the validating metric of female worth, and women are still (perhaps increasingly) expected to look and fuck like porn stars — plucked, smooth, their pleasure performed persuasively. Meanwhile, male climax remains the accepted finish of hetero encounters; a woman’s orgasm is still the elusive, optional bonus round. Then there are the double standards that continue to redound negatively to women: A woman in pursuit is loose or hard up; a man in pursuit is healthy and horny. A woman who says no is a prude or a cock tease; a man who says no is rejecting the woman in question. And now these sexual judgments cut in two directions: Young women feel that they are being judged either for having too much sex, or for not having enough, or enough good, sex. Finally, young people often have very drunk sex, which in theory means subpar sex for both parties, but which in practice is often worse (like, physically worse) for women."

My interpretation that you can see in this paragraph is that she clearly has had bad sex in her past and she regrets it and feels disgusted by it and thinks it has to do with a societal issue that caused her to consent to sex she didn't really want.

But this translates to males: Stay away from women to have sex even if they consent.

How can you expect to have great sex when you tell the male that whatever he does, consent or not that he will fail?

Not to mention she seems to refuse to see things from a man's perspective; some of her points are valid but not exclusive to women.

Maybe drunk and careless sex wouldn't happen as often if the dumbass social constructs of young people didn't practically require everyone to imbibe alcohol before finding anyone to be attracted to. Which is a direct result of the shame and anxiousness surrounding sober sexuality.

More like if you don't make her have an orgasm, you should be charged with rape.

TL;DR:

I talked to one person who is queer. Then I talked to another person who identifies as genderqueer. They both agree that they don't understand sex between men and women. Something something power imbalance female orgasm rape.
