There are no "fair trials" in the USA. Corrupt judges, corrupt politicians, corrupt government, all produce a corrupt "justice" system. They really do not try to even hide it anymore. Guilt or innocence is determined almost exclusively by ability to pay, cops are held to different standards than civilians, and the government does not play by its own rules (the Constitution) if it decides to destroy someone.

Yeah. In about 20 years all this corruption will surface and everybody will be so surprised about it. Blindness and double standards all over.

It's funny how the US comes up with it's own terms. What is normally referred at as corruption (among politicians) all over the world is called "funding" in the US and nationalism, no matter how extreme, is called "patriotism".

It's already on the surface and nobody cares about it now because the American public has a personality like Beavis and Butthead, and it's just about as smart too. Those who care can't because they're shut up by minimum wage PR reps online, and offline any attempts to correct anything leads to the bloated media lying about it.

Nope. Us people are too lazy and fat to do anything.

I mean, North Korea is pretty shit right now, but that has nothing to do with the region, just the oppressive regime running it.

Not the least bit surprised by this.

Yea this was the predictable outcome. You can't blame him for wanting to come home though.

If your average minority suspect struggles to get a fair trial for low-level felonies, you don't stand a chance as someone who has severely undermined the authority of his entire government and exposed countless secrets to the public.

Just move on, dude. It's time to start over somewhere else. If you come back to the US, you are either going to spend the rest of your life in a terrible place or you are going to die. Don't be fucking naive just over some patriotic or moral obligation, your fucking life is worth more than any of that.

In fact, he has a moral obligation not to return to the US. At least from Russia, he can engage in public dialogue over this whole debacle.

At least he discussed it, and said he would return if he got a fair trial. That's a lot more than Glenn Greenwald said sadly, in his "commentary" on Tuesday at https://firstlook.org/theintercept/greenwald. Relax, my friend, you don't have to get your back up for heavens sake,

Are you saying Glenn Greenwald didn't mention Snowden coming back or Glenn himself coming back?

Either way after the treatment Greenwald's boyfriend got at the airport I wouldn't expect Greenwald to travel anywhere near the us.

He would have to be a reddit user to return to the US.
