This really is not all that surprising for a lot of reasons that have to do with debate politics and not actual politics. Firstly, they are not facing off against the best that the Harvard debate team has to offer. They are facing three random members of the debate team that wanted to participate in the event. Secondly, this was just a debate. By that I mean that it was one debate where most debate tournaments have 10-16 debates between teams. The prison team won that one debate, but it would be comparable to sports team losing a regular season game. Thirdly, most people in debate have beaten a Harvard debate team. There are a lot of debate occurring throughout a 'season' of debate. I, personally, have beaten two different teams that won the national championships, however, the teams that won the championships are a lot better than me. I just happened to know a lot more about the topic. While it might be exciting that the immates won the debate, it needs to be taken in the broader context of debate.

No video of the debate exists that I know of, however, I can post a video of a comparable debate if people are interested.
