Upvoted won’t have banner ads or pop-ups, but will instead feature sponsored posts written by advertisers by the same team that writes its standard stories. The write-ups will be paid for and approved by the company behind the sponsorship deal. These ads, Chang tells WIRED, will be as good as normal posts.

So, it'll basically be a subreddit full of shills and corporate whores. Good luck with that one guys!

Yeah, I was about to say... that basically describes 90% of reddit...

The rest is all pro-israel shills and SJWs

Considering the quality of 'normal posts', the ads will probably be a new level of shitty.

TIL: COKE ZERO HAS ONLY 20 CALORIES!

fitness post: coke zero great for rehydration after walks.

History: coke never had cocaine!

Art: check out these coke polar bears I drew!

Music: hands across the world...BY COKE

Loseit: I gained 100 lbs drinking pepsi...Coke helped me lose the weight!

Gaming: drinking a case of coke can give you the edge over online opponents.

Fph: banned for angering the corporate overlords.

I wonder how much a paid ad costs. Maybe we could advertise voat.

Isn't this exactly what Digg did when it died?

Isn't switching to curated content exactly why Digg fell?

Yup. They're trying to avoid Digg's fate by becoming Digg. Brilliant!

Isn't this a separate site to Reddit though? The masses at Reddit can safely ignore this propaganda website as it looks like it was made mainly for advertisers anyway.

They hoped nobody would notice if they said they weren't doing it while doing exactly that, again.

Oh dear. I can already see several mods cheering over this. SRS in particular probably got wet just by thinking about a site where those pesky users can't get in its way.

One could also say that SRS is crying over it because they won't have anyone to exercise power over.

I made the mistake of reading r/worldnews yesterday. The shills aren't even trying anymore. In a thread about the hospital bombing they were shifting blame to "fog of war" and they were copy-pasting the same arguments with just one word changed!! People called them out on it but guess who got the upvotes?

A decade after its launch, Reddit is far from its unofficial slogan as the bastion of free speech. It has instead become a breeding ground for racist, misogynistic, anti-Semitic, and other hateful conversations. It’s has reached a quarantine stage, where it cannot simply detox doxing and swatting

Keep feeding that narrative, news outlets.

This statement has so much contradiction, what the hell. "instead of free speech.... there is speech we dont like". Lol. RIP reddit, your death cant come swiftly enough.

racist, misogynistic, anti-Semitic, and other hateful conversations.

All of which is free speech. And sparks some pretty good conversation on reddit when it bubbles up.
