I hate that "It's the man's fault for picking the wrong woman" answer. First of all, people change. Not always for the better. The right woman can easily become the wrong woman. Second, imagine if it was perfectly legal to beat and rape your wife, and people just said to women "Geez, looks like you picked the wrong man. My man is great."

No way. If you marry someone without knowing they have a predisposition to violence, then it's most certainly your fault.

So many people say "they changed as soon as the ring was on the finger!" but that's really just a deflection to avoid taking responsibility. If you truly didn't see all the signs, or jumped in without really understanding who you were pledging your life to, then you truly have poor decision making skills.
