So has their net worth. It's amazing how less than half a century after "no fault" divorce allowed women to pump and dump men for easy income, men learned that it's better off to stay single.

My mom may have left my father a penniless, empty shell of a man. But at least she taught me that marriage is the biggest scam of all time. Thanks mom!

Actually not really true, single men die much earlier than married or partnered men.

It is not necessarily true. Your sources conflict

(emphasis mine)

Divorced and separated persons were over twice as likely to commit suicide as married persons. Being single or widowed had no significant effect on suicide risk. When data were stratified by sex, it was observed that the risk of suicide among divorced men was over twice that of married men .

And interestingly:

Among women, however, there were no statistically significant differentials in the risk of suicide by marital status categories.

I guess the real lesson is if you're single, stay single. Less risk.
