I think Israel is definitely pandered to, but most people don't purposely pander to Jews. If they do happen to do it, it's because they're pandering to a company or institution, and the person or people who lead it happen to be Jewish, but I don't think there's necessarily any correlation.

i think thats a great distinction. israel being pandered to compared to jewish people. but i do think theres a correlation between jews being heads of institutions and corporations and the pandering of israel from both parties.

My last girlfriend was Jewish, and while her family and friends weren't pro-Israel, they did generally support Israelis. They had all been there for that once-a-lifetime free trip, during which they had met Israeli civilians. Of course the citizens were nice, and explained the situation and the history in such a way that it sounded as if everything was justified, but it was to be expected, coming from Israelis. My girlfriend hadn't met any Palestinians whose houses were burned down, bulldozed, or taken over by Israeli settlers (unsurprisingly), so I couldn't help thinking that the other side of the story wasn't being represented. I also couldn't help thinking that the Israeli people have as little control over their government as Americans do over theirs, but in the videos where they're yelling at settlers, throwing rocks at both non-Jewish tourists and Palestinians, and walking through Palestinian settlements, talking about which house they're going to take, it isn't the Israeli military. It's regular people, so clearly there's something wrong with the "Israelis are justified" opinion.
If it was up to me, everyone in the area would be relocated, and everything would be reduced to irradiated glass. Fuck divine right to land, fuck inherited entitlement, and fuck that dry, barren excuse for sectarian violence.
