Wow this is a really interesting case. He has child pornography charges against him and claims it is all made up and a desperate attempt to shut him up. He was in the process of releasing a book called, CIA in Afghanistan: 30 years of drug smuggling. Next thing he knows he's getting hit with child porn charges. If this is true, it sounds like the perfect way to discredit him in case his book ever makes it mainstream. Media will never have to acknowledge it's credibility since he has a child porn conviction on his record.

EDIT: This story is fake. Thank you to @Calibas for pointing out the website's disclaimer stating that it is purely satirical. I also googled John Abbotsford CIA and the only thing that comes up are OP's link and other websites referencing the same link.

I've been sceptical of these accusations of child pornography ever since I read about the capability of planting evidence remotely. Post snowden, I wouldn't put it past NSA or CIA or whatever abbreviation you want, to use this ability to shut people up.

you are correct in your skepticism

It's a very useful tactic because no one wants to defend a potential pedophile. And there's lots of very feasible ways to plant the evidence.

Since it's an easy, cheap, and effective tactic I assume it's in use by some groups. But how can we tell when it has been used?

I read about that also, I'm just not sure how to Google for that type article.

They used to just marginalize these people as conspiracy theorists. With that no longer really being a badge of dishonor, they have to look elsewhere. CP works to discredit anything and I'm not sure anyone doubts they have the ability.

Not buying the CP charges. He's a hero plain and simple. Fuck the CIA they are the biggest threat to humanity since the atom bomb.

Confirmed organized assfuckery always starts as a "conspiracy theory". That's why it's important to keep up on both conspiracy theories AND debunking of the bullshit ones.

I'd be more surprised if there weren't CP charges, that's been pretty standard practice against CIA targets abroad for a while now.

I think the same kind of thing happened to Gary Webb. They didn't try and make him look like a child pornographer, but they apparently did harass him about his book and threaten his family and whatnot, leading him to commit suicide, or he was killed. Some will say two gunshots to the head isn't possible, but it is possible, just very rare.

Edit: turns out this story is satire http://worldnewsdailyreport.com/disclaimer/

Two shots in the head with a 38 is pretty absurd, that's a big round

There are other factors at play there, though. For example, American farmers' unions lobbied to make sure that food aid, especially apples, would be sent to Afghanistan instead of just money. America literally destroyed the previously profitable apple market by flooding the country with apples, and a huge number of those orchards were converted into poppy fields.

I'd love to hear some examples of who you think are the good guys. Not a definition of what makes a good guy, an actual example of those in power using it for the purpose of being "good guys".

Here, read this crazy shit.

It's by the same reporter who did Generation Kill and The Cocaine Cowboys.

TL;DR of it is that one of the CIA's highest ranking officers also happens to be a former hitman for the miami mob responsible for importing much of the cocaine that went through that city in the late 80's and 90's.

Why is this the only source on this story? I'd like to believe it's true, but it seems sketchy to me. Can't even find any articles about the child pornography charges...According to this site I found, the story is entirely fictional and meant as satire: http://www.legitgov.org/Retired-CIA-Agent-We-Run-Afghan-Opium-Trade

I think there is going to be a flood of people who start coming forward about what our government has been up to. They have just gotten to bold and people are really tired of the crap that is happening in our world.

[–] rhava 0 points 5 points (+5|-0) ago  (edited ago)

i think so as well. This last year has been jaw dropping on the balls of these people to do things out in the open. The Bundy Ranch standoff was especially crazy given how overtly unconstitutional it all was, and how it was connected to Harry Reid. Scary shit is going on in this country, its time to put a stop to the open criminality and remember that we have the power to lock up these psychopathic monsters at any time.

god i hope so.

i have no doubt he is telling the truth.

disgusting, that the cowardly, parasitic scumbags running this country can turn on someone who put their life on the line for the USA, just because he has the courage to speak the truth.

In the Information Age, this will "mysteriously" happen to anyone who speaks out with evidence against our government. you can complain and protest all you want, no big deal, but if they know you have some real dirt on them, you will be found with CP or charged with terrorism.

They are powerful, but they are not creative. This tactic works, and they will continue to use it.

Einstein said he didn't know what weapons WW3 would be fought with, but i do. Information and character defamation.

I used to get called a terrorist for being against the war in Afghanistan and Iraq. In the future, the only people who speak out against our government being insane will be Kiddy diddlers.

Did he start writing the book before or after he was charged? If so, that could make it a lot more credible.

Edit: holdon guys, turns out this story is complete horseshit: http://worldnewsdailyreport.com/disclaimer/ Just go to the homepage and read some of the article headlines. It's a satire site, some of their articles may sound real, but they're completely fictitious from what I can tell.

before 9/11 the Taliban had almost eradicated the opium. after the american invasion 95%+ world opium comes out of Afghanistan.

This is the truth. The american government uses the military as the largest terrorist weapon on earth.

The United States and its largest allies are the criminal empire of the suffering world.

Nation states justify the murderous nation states that claim to be saving the wrest of the nation states from the other nation states.

Freedom has no color but it has a owner.
