Well yes, working in a car factory is more difficult than taking people's burger orders or scanning groceries.

I'd wager Ford factory employees average a lot more than $15 an hour nowadays.

Not many jobs are minimum-wage any more. Those that are are really low-skill.

The greatest problem in the next 50 years is going to be how the hell we find enough jobs for people to do.

With the advent of automation and robotics in many industries, we're going to be living in a mostly post-labour society. It would not surprise me if welfare becomes the norm for the majority of the world's population.
