This guy ia ravenous. I've been looking for this combo of policy/personality in any candidate for so long. Hillary's going to look like an NPC next to this guy.

This reminds me of a great point I heard earlier. Context: They're talking about a video clip of him speaking at a small venue about a different issue.

The reason Bernie Sanders is resonating is because he is so obviously authentic. Who would fake that? "I'll do this whole shtick where I pretend to be a guy who's been a progressive for my whole life and actually represents the people.... And I'll be bald and a little frumpy." Who would make that up? He is the real deal, and he didn't go forty years of his life to pretend to be something, he's been that.

People who follow this show closely know that I think he needs to be pressed on money in politics...

Source

Woah, I found a mistake (apparently). The transcript of this youtube video replaced "he didn't go forty years" (what he said) with "he is looking for four years". That totally changes the meaning; wtf. Happens around 2:30 in the video.

Because who would do that? Just come into a political debate and tell lies?

Who would fake that?

Uh, a politician would fake that. They pretty much always try to fake that. Some are better than others, of course.

Or assassinate his character. It's a short hop from Progressive Independent to Socialist, to Communist. They don't even have to say it. They just imply it.

Nah, communism doesn't spark fear anymore. I could reveal to the world that I'm a communist who loves Stalin without having to worry about being sent to some camp where I am tortured.

If someone calls him out as a communist that certain person will just going to be seen as a misinformed fool stuck in the past.

If they do:

  1. He's old enough to have lived a long, happy life (unlike JFK)
  2. It will shake up the entire political landscape
  3. The Barbara Streisand effect would likely occur and there would be 1000's of Sanders clones

"I want to splinter the CIA into a thousand pieces and scatter it to the winds." -JFK
So I'm not great with history but did the president get his dying wish, or did they just classify everything and pin it on some crazy guy that got shot shortly afterwards too? Can't... remember.... which....

They'll only kill him if he gets into office and they can't buy him off, or threaten him enough to scare him into changing his stance on a lot of things.

Godspeed, Bernie.

“At a time when many Americans are demoralized about politics and have given up on the political process, I think it’s imperative that we have as many debates as possible,”

That's some pretty inspiring stuff. Personally, I think that shows some genuine passion.

Well they can kiss my vote goodbye if they run Hillary. I don't even know why they want her so bad at this point. A good portion of their voter base is not going to support her and then Donald Trump will be the president.

I'll write in a vote for Deez Nuts before I vote for Hillary.

I'm voting Trump if they rail road Bernie and we end up with Hillary. That's the biggest "Fuck you" I can possibly think of.
I'd rather everything just go to absurdity now than this continued corrupt face slide along the concrete to NSA big brother Gitmo torture camp authoritarian bullshit.

Wow that's my exact feelings. If they want to treat of elections like a joke, then I'll vote for the clown.

Who else does DMC has? Biden? They have been planning on a hillary presidency since 2007

A good portion of their voter base doesn't watch debates or follow campaigns and will vote for Hillary because she's a woman.

Yeah I get that, and you are 100% percent correct. I just don't think she can win with such a large portion of their voter base more opposed to her than Donald Trump.

Nobody wins as independent. Not yet. I'm glad this is happening though only because a lot of Dems like Sanders and now they will see that Ron Paul's supporters were not bullshitting about him being fucked over in the election by the media. This will wake them up a bit. See the real world. Sanders will possibly get the same treatment by their own people. Hopefully this will bring people together to realize the election fraud and the media's corroboration (did I really spell that right?).

What if Trump ran with Sanders as VP?

Well, to be fair Ron Paul had some really shitty libertarian views that drove people away from him. I just saw him as the lesser of two evils but in no way was I enthusiastic to vote for him. Sanders on the other hand, I agree with most of what he preaches.

What I'm trying to say is that I can see why RP didn't make it that far. He couldn't adapt his views to those of the majority and therefore his campaign didn't gain so much steam. This eventually allowed the GOP to black him out without anyone noticing.

The Democratic party tried and is still trying to blackout Sanders, the only difference is that it's not working because people WANT Sanders.

And Sanders/Trump 2016 is never going to happen. They're both going balls deep to win the presidency. That's a good thing, because if Sanders is assassinated, we're stuck with goldilocks and his wall.

I've heard talks of a sanders-rand paul bid... even though they don't align on some things, they could be a lethal (in a good way) duo

They're both shaking up far more shit this way.

Plus, it's a two-party system. If the race were really three-way, no one would get a majority and the House would decide the president. That's not what an outsider would want to happen.

[–] NedTaggart 0 points 1 points (+1|-0) ago

Well, let's be honest here. With your system of using the electoral college, it is absolutely possible to get the majority vote and still lose the election.

[–] FreeSpeachRocks 0 points 1 points (+1|-0) ago

Because the system is rigged such that anything other than Coke or Pepsi doesn't have a chance. People are finally realizing its not Red versus Blue but Purple versus the People.

[–] Spiral_Out 0 points 0 points (+0|-0) ago

It was his first mistake, but he didn't want to lose his precious seat in the Democratic faction. In the end it was speculated that Bernie will drop out last minute (or be killed) and all remaining votes will go to Hilary.

no shit, they do the media black out and information control... just like how ron paul got knocked out because the repub powers that be anointed romney... the Dems have anointed hillary and will be damned if she does not get the nomination.

I'm glad to see this happen to the democrat side. When Bush was in office everyone screamed how Republicans are the problem, and Obama was all hope and change. Then they see that Obama is just another groomed politician and only continued/enhanced "Bush" policies. I thought that would wake enough of them up to see the one-party system in action. But it didn't do enough. Then in 2012 when Ron Paul was censored, and his delegates blocked from voting, being detained by police, and party officials being sacked if they supported Paul, it was largely ignored/denied by the dem side. Well, here it is in front of your faces. The party system is corrupt as all shit, and you have a one party system. I'll tell you it's a sad state of affairs, but at least the dems get to see what happens to Sanders, just like what happened to Ron Paul in 2012. The rigging and corruption is REAL.

The system is rigged on both sides, but I'm not sure if scheduling 6 debates, 4 of which are before a primary vote is cast, is the worst thing they've done.
