If a bill isn't passed, and it gets "defeated," it's okay to slip it into another bill in an attempt to pass it again? That sounds like it should be illegal. (Not too educated regarding laws and bills honestly)

It sounds like we need to push for minor little bills to get approved - little by little - the same way all of our rights are starting to get taken away, little by little (instead of just trying to defeat the TPP and prevent it from being passed since it appears it can casually be added into the next bill if it's turned down).

Yea, thats how I would do it. Its hard finding out whos not in ties with crooked people tho cause at a certain point, citizens can call out all they want, but it wont do anything if no one in charge can do anything about it. Im not saying thats the way it is now, could be, but if it is it'll eventually get passed..

There's probably bills we never payed attention to in the past, and people are realizing they passed it anyway under something else. Im assuming this has been happening for a good while.

It's SOP in Washington.

http://news.yahoo.com/senate-gop-adds-dodd-frank-rewrite-21b-funding-162452209--finance.html

I wish I could remember another one I saw recently.. John Oliver or someone covered it, where the Senate kept the bill name but completely rewrote the text and made it about something different entirely.

We need to make that illegal

Happens too often to name one. The whole setup is a bickering between who gets money and what kind of tradeoffs you're willing to give. Its a disaster.

But it's not the same bill. See right here? Instead of saying that we're going to fuck you in the ass, it says that we're going to insert a meaty appendage into one of your orifices.

Its par for the course, happens everyday. And you Americans let it happen. Its too much work to get up off your chairs and do anything, but you'll be very vocal on a forum that noone ever reads.

Why not stand up, grow a backbone, and do something? Oh, too fat and lazy to try. You get what you deserve.

Edit: And countries like Australia, that are arguably worse, follow suit. We have a particular bunch of arseholes, Abbott and Brandis, that are all too willing to do your bidding. All it will take is for us to roll over and do nothing. We're doing that nicely. Everyone expects a handout or for something to happen for no work. Stand up, and don't put up with this shit. Deaf ears.

What country are you in? There's 12 counties that will be implementing the TPP, it's not just the US.

The TPP needs to be stopped, and we can work to putting a stop to it.

Then it'll be shoved into the next thing if its stopped. not saying people should give up. But its like we're spraying bug spray on top an ant hill. The nest is still underground and they'll keep coming out with another hill.

Then we pour gas on it and burn the whole fucking thing. Seriously, this TPP is what corporate cunts are trying to cash in on with their "money is free speech" bullshit. If our government doesn't get the idea we don't want this treasonous shit, we need to lynch the entire lot of them to make the point.

How is a sub forum on voat going to help? You've got a very small amount of people. I don't disagree with the ideal, but you're not going to do shit.

Most normal people don't read Reddit, let alone Voat. You're talking to a tiny amount of people, in an echo chamber.

I say this because I'd like to see some serious action, not a dude person venting on voat. I'm playing devil's advocate to some degree. There are a large amount of people out there voting etc, that won't see this.

What are your plans to propogate this to a mainstream audience? And when can I use a taser-bot on you?

I agree, it would take at least 3-4 thousand of us to barely make any impact. My plan is to create as much anti-TPP content as possible, and have everyone spread it out through the rest of the internet all at once. Things like Kony2012 style videos, or graphic informative images, or even just the mindless circlejerking shit that comes from things like the fattening or the /v/AskVoat controversy.

That part is just about spreading awareness and outrage. Shortly after, if the mainstream internet has our attention, we'll start releasing messages saying "Anti-TPP protest at [city] at [date-time]", including a list of things people should bring if they don't want to get hurt by riot police, such as bandannas laced in tear gas neutralizer.

There needs to be a huge effort to identify the congresscritters who keep pushing SOPA, and publicizing their names until they can't walk down the street without rotten vegetables being thrown at them, while people point and laugh.

Start with the list of bastatds who first proposed it, then get a list of every bastard who supported it and it's countless shill clones.

Then you'll have a place to start.

SOPA already happened months ago

The only thing the TPP can be stopped with is the 2nd Amendment.

Bills like this which take power from men and give it to corporations will always come back time and time again, so long as the same people remain in power.

Tpp and sopa are symptoms, the problem are greedy corporations, and a corrupt government.

Until the problem is removed, the symptoms will return under different names.

It's not going away. It will be enacted. They will put it at the end of "A Bill for Feeding Hungry Children in American Cities." It will be a 800 page 'rider' attached. What politician is going to come out and say, "I am against the bill for feeding hungry children in American cities?" Who is going to vote against that bill? It's not like we have an educated population. We're extremely low-knowledge voters and get riled up if someone says you hurt their feelings.

No, SOPA is coming and there's not a thing you can do about it. Our legislators have long since stopped representing us. When all the good laws have been written they are not going to give up on their jobs. They're just going to write bad laws after that.

I'm sure they'll be banned, if not by this, then eventually.
