I fully agree with the last paragraph about preventing power consolidation. Hence, the 10 subverse moderating limit should be reduced to 3.

That said, /pol/ is just dicks, but they're for freedom of speech, so I guess it's kinda nice to have these dicks cancel out the voices of the sjw dicks that run loose on this site already.

I'm with Sacrix, I'd prefer /pol/ to the SRS shits from Reddit.

At least /pol/ can make stable arguments and have real discussions (most of the time). Even if you don't agree with them I enjoy them more than the ... other people. /pol/ will at least consider your arguments and refute it with verifiable evidence. SRS will just declare self righteousness.

Why do you think it's growing in popularity so rapidly? It's the other extreme, and it's kind of refreshing.

I don't mind /pol/, they can be dicks if they want. At least they let other people do their thing, too.

On the subject of /pol/ cancelling out the SJWs, I feel like this is really relevant.

/pol/ doesnt cancel SJWs, they feed eachother with their badly constructed conclussions, half-truths, boogeymans and their fucked up dialectics. Think about it, they brag about the same things, just from contrary points, never reaching any suistainable point, censoring opinions they dislike and using co-opting tactics for the spreading of their ideas. If they are the only voie in the room they cant be argued, and they do this because they dont feel comfortable with the solidity of their points.

They are basically the same shit.

3 for non front page subverses and only 1 front page sub per account. That would stop any cabals/cliques.

Have you ever actually browsed /pol/? Worst thing that'd come would probably be an influx of happy merchant memes and their own subverses that they have every right to have.

They aren't worse. It's true that they are very mean doing the doxxing and the other things but they do it for the lulz and I haven't hear that they try to get people out of their jobs like the SJW.

/baph/ mostly attack people who will give laughs and overreact from attacks (e.g. diagnosed autistics and people living off welfare and spend all day on the internet). While I'm not advocating doxxing on the autistic community or people in similar conditions as Chris Chan, Briana Wu, Peter Coffin, ect., the amount of actual damage /baph/ can actually do to a person is quite minimal, since they're typically already damaged or have little to lose.

This is opposed to SRS, which actually target those who are successful and employed and don't target for laughs, but instead to feel powerful and enforce their ideologies onto the world.

I believe it's gone now, the mod has left and is off on travels till things calm down. There was a farewell thread last night

I really think you are oversimplifying /pol/. Ever since the creation of /new/, the community there has created a very nuanced satire that is not immediately obvious. First /new/ was banned, and that put off a lot of people. The censorship has been building on /pol/ (partly related to the flight of moot), so they are also looking for a new home.

Sure, there are some some bad apples, but on the whole there are many who are posting with a biting satire since that was the culture of the board.

This (a) isn't news, but (b) provides evidence that moderator overhead is necessary. [TBH: That is very likely what a goal of that thread was. The OP wanted to bring to attention in a real way the threat of rogue moderators]

Oh, I have no real idea. I stopped going to /pol/ when I realized it was just going to continue getting restricted.

So what? /pol/ just went through the same struggle we did, in moving from 4chan to 8chan recently. They stand in solidarity with us.

/pol/ is not a single person; it's not an affiliation. You have fascists, monarchists, neoconservatives, libertarians, federal agents and bot networks posing to subvert thought, shitposters, newfags, retards. You have religion threads, philosophy threads, economics threads, politics threads, geopolitics threads, (too many) shitposting threads, threads about simple red pills (e.g.: the financial system, the impossibility of egalitarian and multiculti paradises), and threads about current events with a surprisingly mixed level of depth in the ensuing conversation. Don't generalise, for the love of god.

The purpose of the board is to search for what is true. What's plainly true is that this site is a shitty take of reddit, meaning that herd thinking and censorship are baked into the discussion with your votes. The sanctity of the truth means nothing in the face of the hive. Absolutely fucking disgusting.

That said, it is a great opportunity to influence people, so expect great things to come. It's not hard to spot disinfo shills, forum sliding, etc. Keep your wits about you and you'll be fine.

Welcome to /pol/
