The MSM sees itself as a cheerleader for the status quo more than an information outlet.

They are concerned for their commercial supporters and see the audience as product.

In this and in the past meltdowns, they cause more confusion and harm than insight and help. Muppets need strings and they play that role.

Try ZeroHedge...they have nailed 163 of the last 3 financial crisis to come along.

NPR has been covering it. I didn't notice a blackout at all. I have also gotten about a million emails about it from where I have my investments to be calm. ::Grumble:: I am never going to retire.

Do not be calm. This ship is sinking. Interest rates were too low for too long, there is way too much borrowed money on the stock market, there is a bond bubble of epic proportions, the $500 trillion derivatives market is scrambling to deal with crashing commodity prices (oh yes, and these derivatives use bonds as collateral). All of this brought to you by the central planners of the Chinese economy, and the corrupt mafioso bankers running the Federal Reserve who distorted interest rates so fucking much that today it is impossible to price any asset in any market. Oh yes, did I mention global currencies are collapsing? Russia and Brazil are about to be insolvent. Every country that relied on oil for capital is screwed. Mexico is on the brink of disaster. China had 3X the amount of borrowed money on the stock market as the the US had in 1929. And the US is probably facing 2X the deflation from the same era as all the worlds shittiest central banks are forced to print until they run out of trees to keep their crap corrupt emerging market banks afloat.

Use the bounce to sell everything. Go into cash if you want to be conservative. Go into broad cyclical short positions like SQQQ, TWM, DXD, SDS if you want to take risks and profit from this collapse.

NPR may technically be mainstream but they are far from the status quo in how they operate and as a result the quality of their programming which in my opinion is miles ahead of just about anything you'll see on cable.

Definitely better than anything on cable. They're still definitely pushing their own agenda, though.

Its typical damage control, the big boys are loosing money, but think they can silently sell off while the plebs like us dont know what to do. First they tried to calm us, you know the whole dont panic and market corrections, now they are not even covering it to buy more time to sell their assets before the big drop comes.

Or I am completely wrong and it is just another bump in our crazy capitalist system.

I did not notice any blackout yesterday.

What I did notice is that the Stock Market correction started last week Thursday (maybe even Wednesday), and most media sources acted like it started Monday.

I don't watch TV, but it was all over the internet, including the websites of major outlets.
