Speech nuts, like gun nuts,

What in the actual fuck.

I love watching Scifi movies, My fav is Fifth Element. I used to wonder as a kid. Why are all the future government so horrible, why does no one have rights?

Now I know it will be demanded in by people who hate freedom. Speech nuts, wtf.

Whats next warrant nuts?

Oh, you must be one of those constitutional nuts that think he deserves all of these "rights" without even having to pay anything. /s

It's funny, because every power granted to the government is a cost. We have agreed to give up very few, very specific rights in exchange for the stability and safety of an established government.

The loss of a few freedoms is what we're already paying to have government, not the other way around.

I feel your pain, for some time now I have been labeled many derogatory things (conspiracy nut, Conspiritard) for pointing out the very real "Conspiracy" (aka systematic fraud/crime) at the highest levels of the control mechanisms on our society.

No one's gonna tear down the first amendment over some SJW weenies. They think minorities are being harrassed into silence online? Mindblowing hypocrisy.

Not minorities, majorities. The SJWs are a very vocal and active minority.

[–] Gracchi 0 points 15 points (+15|-0) ago

They don't need to change the language. They just have to get judges to carve out exceptions based on some higher purpose. It's the exact same way many of our other Amendments have largely become worthless.

The Constitution gets tweaked by judges all the time.

All you need is a "hate speech" exception thats vague enough to prosecute unpopular opinions.

A business with religious freedom? No. A person with religious freedom? Yes. Providing a service to the general public, is hardly supporting a cause.

This is what we harvest after having sown a decade's worth of fear-mongering in the name of "counter-terrorism," dreamed up by Bush et al. after 9/11 and continued by Obama and his war on journalists and the truth. Free speech zones, torture, going to war over spheres of influence and dressing it up as national security, normalizing 24/7 surveillance of every American citizen, prosecuting whistle blowers, establishing the DHS and making the TSA federal police, prosecuting journalists, and legalizing government propaganda. An entire generation has grown up seeing this as the baseline of normality, from which things could easily get worse without being "too much worse," and the definition of normal has been completely rewritten.

It's no surprise that we've started seeing indoctrinated, ignorant people clamoring for further restrictions on liberty and freedom. The government and military industrial complex have worked hard for over a decade to instill the fear of freedom and free speech in people, to the point where they're beginning to truly believe that "censorship is free speech."

This goes back way, way further. It just slipped out of the public eye for a time, during which it was presumed defeated.

Big City Americans is a more proper term. Granted, I'm more left than I am right myself (mostly centrist really) but living in a big metro is like this all over the country (I used to live in LA, now I live near SF).

The same new yorkers that scream about the south having a racism problem while NY police kill black kids in the street, under the guise of stop and frisk laws that let them target minorities. It's a city that is segregated by race, nationality and income, and ruled by literal force. The fact that there isn't blood in the gutters just means no one has stepped far enough out of line.

It's my belief that most of this divisive rhetoric is actually soviet psyops meant to rip apart our country. So the garbage they, and the rest of the PC media spew is not surprising.

There's a chance we really are dealing with the fallout of KGB psyops. The irony is that, when the jackboot comes down, it almost always comes down on the necks of those who tied its laces first.

[–] batarjal 0 points 1 points (+1|-0) ago

The psyops idea sounds interesting, if a little farfetched...but your assertion that it's perpetrated by a world power that hasn't been around since the late 80s is absurd...

Early on in GamerGate we were trying to figure out what the hell was driving these SJWs in terms of ideology, and someone found a very good description of them - Cultural Marxists. Guess what happened soon after? SJWs on Wikipedia got the Wiki on Cultural Marxism - a fairly in-depth one which had existed for over 5 years - deleted.

Considering the similarity in ideology, I'm tempted to agree with /u/RewriteFullwise that this might even be Soviet agitprop from the Cold War which somehow developed new momentum recently and snowballed.

Not sure if I'd really want to tie the soviets in there. Any real Marxist would be appalled by the way these privileged, bourgeois people harp on about race and gender while ignoring the elephant in the room that is economic inequality. They ignore it because deep down they know if they acknowledged it, they'd be exactly the evil they're denouncing. Granted, the Soviet union wasn't exactly as Marxist as it pretended to be, either.

this is what happens when you misinterpret the constitution to allow birth right citizenship for illegals. you create an entire sect of Americans who are really just foreigners living on american land.

That sounds dangerously like right wing talking-points, fellow citizen Dumpsterjuice.

That is exactly why I do not understand the immense pressure for everyone to be 100% PC.

If someone has a different, dare I say, opposing view point of my own... Why I will just become so extremely butthurt!
