Yes but Greece really makes sense because a) it is undisputed that the Olympics originally came from them b) they have a climate where athletes can practice year-round c) they, more than anyone on the planet need to generate the sort of finacials to free themselves from IMF fuckery before they're doomed to it in perpetuity.

It makes more sense when you look into how well they pulled off their last Olympics, dealt with the crowds, transportation, food, athletes.... They did an amazing job, one of the best in decades it could be argued. The you look at Atlanta right after it and it was a fuster cluck by most accounts from the inside. Plus, ya, the history, the layout, the weather, everything. Yes it favors Europeans, but whatever, anywhere favors someone. The moving it around to be fair is annoying and leads to the problems we have now. With it as a permamnant thing there, they can almost base a good chunk of their economy on it, better digs for the athletes, better infrastructure all around. Less problems.

Save up for it, go to Greece, see the Olympics. It's a bucket list item then. Oh, totally disband the pack of corrupt wankers called the IOC.

The problem is their financial situation. Everyone would view them as undeserving.

Sometimes you do the right thing because it is the right thing to do.

this, and the IMF wants to keep them in debt because Greece is a cow they can milk for a LONG time if they play their cards right
