Can someone inform the police that the duty of being a cop is to investigate and arrest criminals. If they ever feel in danger they could literally just walk away, wait for the danger to go away, and come back and investigate. But yet, here we are, seeing them go for a high score for murder every month. They already "upped people killed in one month" twice this year in May and July.

A guy I knew (I wouldn't call him a friend), got really drugged up and drunk and at about 3am he was shouting and swinging a 5ft replica battle axe around violently. Pretty much in a rage. This is a big guy, probably 6'3 or taller. Police officers responded to the scene, observed, retreated to a safe distance, made sure nobody entered the street and watched until he tired himself out an hour or 2 later, sat down and cried and allowed the police to restrain and arrest him without resisting in any way.

This was in Britain.

If this was America he would most likely be dead.

In the US it depends on where you are. If you're in a small or rural town, you'd have about the same outcome. If you were in a city or an urban area, if he wasn't going for anyone he may have been tazed or pepper sprayed, if he was going for someone or had jumpy cops he'd be shot.

Sounds like you know what you're talking about. How long have you been on the force?

Yeah, cause an armed robber pointing a gun at you or the guy swinging at you with a bat is going to let you walk away. While agree that police brutality is a problem, taking everything that could possibly harm someone from them is not the answer.

Just the kind of policing I want. If I'm getting beaten by a group of black teens, I would love the police to wait until the kids have had their fun and settled down.

Wouldn't want them to have to enter a dangerous situation right?

Well they are not getting paid to protect people, so that is like demanding a bank teller to stop a bank robber. Don't rely on other people to protect you, where does that get you. I would much rather rely on my own firearm and my awareness to protect my self.
