Hey there fellow Ohioan! Have you read the bill? Unfortunately I think it will pass because the bill is actually good for smokers. Growers will be screwed because there is no way for them to enter the industry. But if you read the bill the exact passage regarding legalization is as follows:
"It is lawful for persons 21 years of age or older to purchase, possess, transport, use and share with another person 21 years of age or older one ounce or less of marijuana or its equivalent in marijuana-infused products. "
Note the use of the word "share" in there. To me that means dealers and growers should still be able to operate as normal because it's impossible to prove if a bag was sold illegally or shared.
Also the bill sets up a committee in charge of auditing the regulated growers. They have the power to take away a grow license but not give one. And I think that the committee will be able to grant manufacturing licenses in the future without having to amend the constitution.

I would agree that it's good for smokers, but it's severely flawed for growers and distributors, which is unacceptable, especially since it's being written into the state constitution. This bill essentially creates a legal monopoly on the plant, disenfranchising anyone without the legal or monetary clout from entering what could be a very profitable and easily accessed peofession.
There should be venues for the average person to enter the industry, just like in other states that have legalized pot.
