"Based on these observations, we speculate that a single dose of 300,000 IU Vit D may have a role in the prevention and treatment of COVID-19."

that is a megadose.

Actually that would be a "kilodose" (300K IU). If it were 300,000,000 IU of vitamin D, then it would be a "megadose".

It is hilarious when somebody thinks they know what they are talking about, when they don't. "kilodose" LOL

Seriously, "megadose" basically means a large dose. If it is tied to a quantity, it means a gram or more. I've never heard of it in the context of IU, nir have I heard of mega connotating "million" in the vitamin literature.

I'd describe 300,000 IU of D as "fucking insane".
