It's an idea but probably unrealistic in practicality. government is always slow to action with so many hoops to jump through.

You don't either. The spill is already totally past cement creek, which was the the last possible place to contain it. At the confluence of cement creek and the animas, it's flowing at about 88 cfs, and by the time it spills into the San Juan it's already at 700 or 800. There's no way you could contain the water, and if you were to pump water out to filter it'd be like pissing into the ocean, and you'd need a mobile filtration facility that can travel over rough terrain even if you were to attempt this.
