It says something incredible about our species that we actually give a damn and work so hard to save species. Everyone always sees the negative about humanity but I see something brilliant about that.

The planetary autoclave doors are shut, people are just too fucking stupid to realize it. By the time they do, it will all be over except for the clawing at the doors and whimpering.

We and nearly all the other animals and plants only exists because of 5 mass extinction, the last 65 million years ago. So whatever we extinct will be replaced by something new. Same with climatic change: Who cares, we surely can adapt, some species not but they will be replaced. Don't be so selfish and prevent evolutionary progress.
... a little exaggerated comment, but I think this is an interesting point and I haven't found an argument against it so far.
