Riding a plane these days is the pits. It's not to different than riding greyhound any more. You get treated either disrespectfully, treated like shot or somewhere in-between by disgruntled employees, there is zero leg room, crammed in like cargo and the let the interiors kind of go to shit. They starve you and try to gouge you on b verages and snacks after gouging you on the ticket and assuring you that your ticket price barely helps cover the gas so don't expect to be treated like a client of value unless your at least paying for buisness class if not for first class.
When I was younger it was a totally different experience. When I was a kid I would always asking I could go see the cock pit, and if I could pass out peanuts. They would let me pass out peanuts and give me a set of "wings" to wear pinned to my shirt that I could keep. I had a coll ction of wings from southwest airlines from all of the times I got to pass out peanuts. They don't even give you peanuts anymore , and the way the attendants act you'd think that they subtract the cost of the snacks and beverages they pass out from the flight attendants pay check.
I'm not leaving the country and so I'd rather drive anywhere in the US than flight just out of principle

Fly small! I am a private pilot and I fly everywhere. There are lots of general aviation pilots out there with commercial licenses that would love to fly you where you want to go. Screw that flying at 35k feet. Fly at 8k feet and see what the world has to show you. As the pilot in command I tell my passengers that the masks combined with altitude could lead to hypoxia, so they are a safety hazard and not allowed on this flight.

That bullet train was rejected by the feds because everyone knows Los Angeles metro and LAX as well as union station serves as a gigantic homeless sleep area for the poor
There’s no market for high speed rail because lets face it people spend five dollars to get a day pass so they can sleep on a slow bus or slow train and they’re not going to work or home lacking both.
I’ve rarely used public transportation to go to a job but I have used it to sleep a lot more yes thats illegal but they don’t pay us the local cost of living to work here
