Of all the ways to die, being buried alive in a coffin seems the most horrifying. No coffin and its probably a quick death but inside a coffin? No thanks please shoot me if you need me gone.

I would say it's the other way around.

Without a coffin, you probably won't even be able to draw a breath. Which means you suffocate quite violently, with a mouth full of dirt. It won't take long, but it'll be a very unpleasant and terrifying couple of minutes.

With a coffin, it will last longer. But you can breathe normally, and just run out of oxygen and pass out gradually, drifting away in the darkness. As long as you can keep your fear under control, and don't give them the satisfaction of seeing you panic, it's probably one of the most innocuous ways of being murdered.

I dont think I can agree. The weight of the dirt would keep you from even taking much of a breathe and the dirt wouldn't allow anything new to your lungs anyway. You wouldn't be conscious any longer than drowning. But in the coffin you can last as long as the o2 lasts down there. Knowing there is six feet of earth above you. Moving your legs and not being able to kick out, scratch out or even omg I cant stand that thought.
