Prove it's real, or not, that's all. If I thought of it, I can be fairly certain a hundred or so evil DEMONcRATS already have. Such a thing could have a profound affect in regards to mass mailings.
Getting the deposit door would be hard w/o using metal. It has a very specific weight and feel that anyone who has ever used one knows. That part would be hard, the rest is cake.
I get what you're saying, but do you really think the majority of people would question it if it has USPS designs all over it? People in general aren't as keen and observant as you or I might be. They fall for bogus life hacks, fake viral videos and other scams constantly. They would not question a lightweight mailbox at all if it looked the part. In fact, I would venture that you could put some wording on it such as "priority election ballot postal service box" and people would actually trust it implicitly because it was obviously installed to "ensure" their vote was safe. If this was not illegal all around, I would consider doing some social experiments with this concept. Being illegal, I will leave this to someone else to experiment with at their own risk.
Yep, plastic would work. Stick one next to a real one in a liberal neighborhood and those low IQ idiots would never know the difference. Just shove the real one full of crap and they'll default to using the fake one. Pick up times are printed on the front, so you know when to get there before the real postman.

I could definitely make a fake mailbox. Im not sure cardboard would ve my first choice but a fake realistic looking mailbox is definitely doable.
