It has been full speed ahead on being evil since Day 1.

I don't know about since day 1, but I have felt they were for at least the last 10 years.

And. And. And . . .

The whole time we will tell our people NOT to be evil!

More kitten tears in the next round, Mycroft.

Man you probably don't remember Yahoo's web search before Google changed the paradigm with their "do no evil" mantra. Yahoo was evil. They didn't give a fuck if you found what you were looking for as long as they could get as much money from advertisers as they could grab. They were greedy fucks and didn't care one bit about minimalism or style.

Then Google showed up. One fucking search bar and everything on the internet behind it... no adverts. No bullshit. Just what you want NOW.

Then over the years the corruption seeped in and evil gained it's foothold as it always does on this world. Through persistence and pestilence... greed and vanity... Google inched closer and closer to the dark side.

Google+ was probably a huge wakeup call for them. They were so much on the brink of total stock meltdown. Google being a subsidiary of Alphabet will definitely mean Google's stock is going to take a hit especially if a lot of the other companies are just R&D hoping to make it big through patents.

As for living forever, I'm not sold on the idea of immortality. The long rest might be a good one. We don't know what that feels like... it could be awesome. And cancer already is like certain cells replicating like mad to try and live forever anyway... maybe the cure for our mortality will be a kind of cancer that keeps us alive forever?

Google will need to explore and push the boundaries of ethical science to discover that.

Google has many features of the countless corporations written about in cyberpunk work

I'm wondering if it's a play on government agency names.

They strike me as exactly the kind of dicks to do that while insulating their baby from their shady shit.
