White people look at it and think "this couldn't happen to me".

When a black person gets shot by the cops, a black person thinks "this could happen to me."

That's the difference.

If a white person really thinks that then they are incredibly naive. The cops don't care what color you are. In my hometown just last year the cops shot a 75 year old white woman because she had a knife. A fucking knife. A physically fit, armed, and trained cop was unable to remove a knife safely from a 75 year old woman and decided to shoot her instead. The chief said it was a justified killing and there were no repercussions. This shit happens all the time the media just doesn't blow it up when it happens to white people.

If anyone comes at me with a knife, regardless of age, my first thought is going to be my safety. If your grandma tries to stab me and I have a gun, she's going down.

Our LEO's carry tasers for these sorts of situations. I'm not going to say a 75 year old woman would survive a tase, but she has better odds than with a bullet.

That said, the media doesn't care is a white person is on the receiving end of the crime. The only time it matters is when a white person isn't. Just look at the news media and see it for yourselves. It's racial bias, and nothing besides.

That's not what is happening. Plenty of white people look at incidents like this and think it can easily happen to them.

The main difference is that the media outlets don't report on police crimes unless there is a racial angle to it, and they can exploit the race war narrative.

Aside from when police are victimizing black people, the media always portrays pigs in the best possible light, and often shy away from rightfully criticizing police abuse.

I think its a blatant attempt to divide people and to keep the racial angel working against everyone. Whites have it so good, they are the cops and hold the black man down. This could work to keep white citizens from speaking out, while keeping race relations hostile enough to keep the society from banding together in a powerful way and changing the establishment. Its easier for the power structure the way it is. If we all took the all lives matter position and you see a truly unified public and citizens regardless of race, well, things would have to change fast and the citizenry would see this and realize their true power. This is no good for the corporations and power structure running things.

If white people went out if the streets every time a white dude was unjustly killed by the police, the media would cover it the same way they do a black's death, cause it would cause the same buzz.

umm? what kind of vapid statement is this? I'm not sure how your comment is even relevant; but I'm white and I'm scared to death of an entity that has a monopoly on violence and has virtually no accountability.

This is what I have to keep in mind about a lot of things I read on here. For some reason the south seems completely different from everywhere else in this country. From sexism to police brutality, reading these comments makes me realize that the south might as well be a different country.

It does not fit the narrative of the BlackLivesMatter movement. They object to saying "All Life Matters" or that anyone other than them can be victimized.

The irony is that if you wanted to stop 75% of black men killed by homicide - they should stand in front of a mirror and protest, because most black homicides could be stopped by the black community, working within the black community.

It's called social engineering. They try and keep society dumbed down for a reason, so none of us learn how to think for ourselves. Our garbage education system teaches you what to think, not how to think. It's easy to stand there and judge from a pedestal, it's much harder to view it as a fabricated issue and see all the millions of shades of gray. How people were raised (and the environment they are subjected to) plays a huge factor in how they turn out, anybody who studies psychology will tell you that. I'm not about to start espousing affirmative action, because by definition it is called "positive discrimination" (whatever the fuck that means) but words like yours (with all due respect) are just two sides of the same coin. I think it's bullshit to believe that if some of these 'violent thugs' had been raised in an upper class environment, with all of the privileges and resources that more fortunate people get, they would still be who they are today. The human brain is a machine, if you were to throw a machine in prison for not performing correctly, you would not only look stupid, but also fucking insane.

Do you honestly believe that if you went out and asked BLM supporters, "Does all human life matter, regardless of skin color?" and that most of them would be like, "No, whitey needs to die?" Okay...

I dunno, they did harass a reporter just for being white: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YV0BX6FTgiI

It is also bringing visibility to the incredibly dim-witted and short-fused law-enforcement officers who really don't give a fuck what your skin color is, they'll shoot you anyways.

Then why bring race into it at all? Why don't we just focus on making officers accountable for their actions.

This is the reason. "White man killed by police" is not anything that anyone cares about. Hell, even this discussion is not about the man that was killed, it's about whether or not the outrage mongers are talking about it. Which is not to imply that people shouldn't be angry about this, but there are people and organisations that live to use events like this to push their agendas.

It is ignored probably for the same reasons that saying "all lives matter" is racist. It doesn't fit the narrative and is therefore to be ignored. Police malpractice and brutality is a problem unique to minorities, right?

Yep, media uses police brutality as a wedge to divide the populace, when it should be uniting us against corruption.

MSM is propaganda.

More people have been killed by the police while in possession of marijuana than by using marijuana

Yup, think about the kids! He had 10 million micrograms of marijuana -- that's 10 million elementary schoolers he could give one to to get them hooked young, then recruit them for ISIS.

Its not there because the white folk are in debt up to their eyeballs, and married to their 9-5 gig. It doesn't personally affect them, so "why bother I've got my own shit to handle"

I am reminded of this:

"First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out— Because I was not a Socialist.

Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out— Because I was not a Trade Unionist.

Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out— Because I was not a Jew.

Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me."

Except the white folk are discouraged from speaking out for the #BLACKLIVESMATTER agenda. Discouraged by the people they're trying to help in the form of beatings.

I don't care if he was white or not, the fact he was shot by police is the issue. These weak, fat uneducated cops can't even handle a unarmed teen. There is going to be a change, I see body cameras on everyone of them and a whole lot of them will end up in prison.

He wasn't shot "over 10 grams of marijuana", he was shot because he tried to run down a police officer with his car (or at least the officer thought so).

Get a grip, people.

Except that what the parent commenter claims didn't actually happen, and he's a retarded lying bootlicker.

The autopsy shows the kid was shot in the back. So you have to be a complete moron to believe a totally unsourced story about the guy running down the cop with a car.

That never happened. This was a murder, which the autopsy shows unequivocally. The fantasy delusions of bootlicker cop apologists doesn't change this fact.
