So the stay at home order worked. The problem is that everybody sees this and says to themselves "guess it wasn't such a big deal." We really can't say for sure, but quarantine probably made a big impact.

you're wrong.
knut wittkowski and other unbiased epidemiologists say "social distancing" isn't effective for respiratory viruses. they spread, no matter what, especially in densely populated cities. wittkowski lives in NYC. he said, even if all 8 million people in the city had a negative pressure isolation chamber, viruses still would be transmitted. he said to protect immuno-compromised people in nursing homes, etc., as much as possible. and don't restrict immuno-competent people, especially young people / students.
