My opinion on immigration, as written on the base of the Statue of Liberty:

"Keep, ancient lands, your storied pomp!" cries she
With silent lips. "Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me,
I lift my lamp beside the golden door!"

Okay, So what does Emma Lazarus poem about immigrants coming to america legally Between 1820 and 1920 have to do with illegals coming in and making demands today. By the way, My grand parents carved there names on the walls of ellis island and there on the American Immigrant Wall of Honor. They come here legally, unlike those lazy latinos.

The "demands" they're making are for the opportunity to make better lives for themselves. If it was as easy now to get citizenship as it was then, we wouldn't have the "illegal immigrant" problems we have now. We would have law-abiding, tax-paying citizens like your grandparents (and my great-grandparents). It's the tough immigration laws that create illegal immigrants.

Edit: and it's that right there-- the "lazy latinos" thing, that creates the problems. That's just unabashed racism.
