In an ideal world this is true. It's supposed to be the intention of the agency, right?

But they don't do that, instead they're all bribed and blackmailed into propping up poison and its producers who profit from both poisoning the public and then providing the "cure" to address symptoms but never the actual cause.

As someone who has worked for a huge bio-pharmaceutical company in the past, I can tell you first hand that the FDA makes drug companies go through extensive and very expensive drug testing and trials before they go to market. These trials are taken very seriously and the drug companies are deathly afraid of the FDA stifling their progress because they know that it is a realistic possibility if the tests don't go well.
